Ellie is a member of the firm. She is an experienced litigator, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of federal, state, and administrative practice, with extensive experience at the trial court and appellate court levels. Ellie specializes in complex and commercial litigation, representing clients across a variety of industries in their contract and business disputes. Ellie also has a significant health care practice, representing physicians, health clinics, and other health services providers in disputes against the administrative and disciplinary agencies that regulate the health care profession. She is a nationally-recognized expert on reproductive health and rights in Louisiana. Ellie is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Tulane Law School.

Ellie has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for her work in commercial litigation from 2018 to the present, and has been named a Louisiana Super Lawyer from 2019 to the present. She received her undergraduate degree from Colgate University and graduated, summa cum laude, from Tulane Law School in 2003.

  • Representing plaintiffs and defendants in business disputes in both state and federal court involving issues such as breach of contract, trust disputes, property rights, detrimental reliance claims, and business torts
  • Representing health care providers in disputes against the Louisiana Department of Health, including extensive experience litigating enforcement actions at the Division of Administrative Law, and state and federal court lawsuits to invalidate statutes and regulations
  • Extensive experience analyzing proposed legislation and advising and advocating for clients at the Louisiana Legislature
  • Extensive experience representing clients in the notice and comment process for proposed regulations and in lawsuits to invalidate regulations improperly promulgated under the Louisiana Administrative Procedure Act
  • Representing clients in lawsuits challenging violations of Constitutional rights, such as due process and equal protection, and violations of federal statutes, such as Title IX
  • Representing car dealerships at the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission in disputes against automobile manufacturers
  • Representing physicians in credentialing disputes with hospitals and disciplinary actions with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Representing clients in disputes with the Louisiana Board of Ethics
  • Extensive experience with the Louisiana Public Records Law and obtaining documents from government agencies and institutions and advising clients of their related rights
