Annie’s diverse practice focuses on civil litigation, criminal defense, and appellate advocacy, in federal and state court. She also handles licensure and ethics matters involving attorneys, physicians, and other professionals.
Prior to joining the firm, Annie was the career law clerk for the late Honorable Martin L.C. Feldman at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. In nearly two decades of clerking, she honed her legal writing skills working on a wide range of substantive matters and gained extensive experience in federal practice and procedure, in the civil and criminal realms. Annie drafted bench memoranda and opinions resolving motions in civil, criminal, constitutional, post-conviction, and administrative matters; prepared for and managed civil and criminal hearings and trials; advised on attorney disciplinary matters; and assisted in onboarding new EDLA judges and in training term law clerks.
Before clerking, Annie began her legal career in New York City at an AM Law 100 law firm, where she was an associate in the commercial litigation section focusing on securities fraud defense.
Annie graduated Order of the Coif and magna cum laude from Tulane University Law School. While in law school, she received Best Exam/CALI Awards for Excellence in Legal Profession, Property, Torts, and Contracts, and she served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Tulane Law Review. She also externed at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Before law school, Annie graduated summa cum laude from a small liberal arts university, where she was captain of the Division I women’s basketball team, playing point and shooting guard. She earned various academic and athletic honors including being named to honor societies, dean’s and president’s lists, named “outstanding major” for both undergraduate majors in criminal justice and political science, as well as being named the university’s best basketball player, most valuable player, and female athlete of the year.
