Jacob joined the firm in the summer of 2016 and represents clients in criminal and civil matters, including matters involving allegations of fraud, bribery, corruption, and other forms of misconduct.

Jacob started his career at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where he assisted clients in matters involving allegations of corruption, bid-rigging, embezzlement, fraud, and executive misconduct brought before courts and tribunals in the U.S. and abroad. In 2014, Jacob joined the New Orleans office of another international law firm, and in that role, Jacob assisted clients from around the U.S. in civil fraud matters and complex litigation in Louisiana.

In 2010, Jacob graduated from University of Michigan Law School, where he received the Sandberg Family Scholarship and served as the Executive Articles Editor of the law school’s civil rights law journal. While in law school, Jacob practiced criminal and civil rights law on behalf of indigent and incarcerated clients as part of Michigan’s clinical law program. Through the clinical program, Jacob and a fellow student successfully obtained the exoneration and release of Edward Carter, an innocent man wrongfully convicted of armed robbery in 1975 who served 35 years of a life sentence before his release.

Before law school, Jacob was a Teach For America corps member in New Orleans, where he taught high school English and American Literature. In 2005, Jacob graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies (magna cum laude) from George Washington University, where he was a Presidential Honors Scholarship recipient.

Jacob is also a volunteer attorney with the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights, assisting LCCR obtain reduced sentences for juveniles sentenced to life without parole. He lives in the Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans with his wife and daughter.
