The Louisiana Crisis Assistance Center is a not-for-profit organization which is devoted to providing trained and experienced counsel for indigent defendants charged with capital crimes. The Center was created in 1993 to address the absence of a state-wide indigent defender system in Louisiana.
Representative, National Conference of Criminal Justice Act Attorneys, 1995 – present. Representative for the Criminal Justice Act panel attorneys for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The National Conference was created in 1995 to ensure that CJA panel attorneys, who represent approximately 80% of all indigent defendants in the federal courts, have representation, and have a mechanism for making their needs, and wishes known to the Federal Judiciary, the Congress, and the Administrative Office of the United States Courts.
Member – Defender Services Advisory Group, June 1, 1999 – March 1, 2004. The Defender Services Advisory Group advises the Defender Services Committee of the United States Judicial Conference on all issues facing the Defender Services Program of the United States Courts.
