Billy joined the firm in 2006 after spending several years as a prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office in New Orleans. Billy has extensive white collar litigation experience and has tried numerous criminal cases both as a defense attorney and as a federal prosecutor. He has handled matters involving allegations of public corruption, mail fraud, health care fraud, environmental crimes, money laundering, and narcotics trafficking. Billy also regularly represents individuals and organizations in connection with Grand Jury proceedings and other state and federal government investigations.

Billy’s commercial litigation practice includes representing parties in cases involving contracts, insurance coverage, business torts, shareholder disputes, healthcare, corporate, and securities law. Billy also frequently represents physicians and health care professionals before regulatory and disciplinary agencies and in peer review proceedings.

Billy is the Criminal Justice Act panel representative for the Eastern District of Louisiana, a trial advocacy instructor at Tulane University Law School, a past chair of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Criminal Law Committee, and a former member of the board of directors of the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

Billy grew up in New Orleans and attended college and law school at the University of Virginia. He lives in Metairie with his wife, Eugenie, and their twins, Will and Gigi.
